Venture Café Global Institute, the world’s leading innovation ecosystem activator, is launching in the UK in partnership with the Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA). The first British hub Venture Cafe London will open on 15th May. Two additional UK Venture Cafes will follow later in 2025 to support regional innovation ecosystems.
Venture Cafe brings together startup founders and investors, research institutions and government agencies – providing a dynamic and inclusive forum to road test ideas and connect with the right talent, clients and funding. It has activated 20 local innovation ecosystems across the globe, including Cambridge (MA, USA), Tokyo and Berlin. Through its signature “Thursday Gatherings” and other tailored local programming, the Venture Cafe international network convenes around 100,000 participants annually.
ARIA is partnering with Venture Cafe across its first three UK hubs and will be a co-host of Venture Cafe London’s weekly “Thursday Gathering” open networking events. ARIA is an R&D funding agency set by the UK Government to unlock transformative scientific and technological breakthroughs for the UK and the world.
The UK’s first Venture Cafe will be in London, which is one of the world’s most advanced startup ecosystems, second only to Silicon Valley. Yet every innovation ecosystem, no matter the size, needs ‘activators’ to facilitate connections, nurture collaborations and drive momentum. Moreover, with the sharp increase in remote work since the Covid-19 pandemic, startup founders cite isolation as a key challenge that can hold them back.
